As we begin this new year together, we want to invite you into something simple, powerful, and life-giving: reading the Bible regularly throughout the year.
Scripture is one of the main ways God speaks to us. Through it, He reveals himself. Being grounded in God’s Word will not only bless us personally but also shape our community and how we pray for one another and for our church.
This year, I am encouraging all of us to take this journey together by following a reading plan, Genesis to Revelation, so we can see God’s story unfold from creation through to the new creation in Revelation.
I have included a spreadsheet with daily readings for the year so you can easily follow along and track your progress. I am also including an .ics calendar file that you can upload directly into your own calendar so your daily readings will appear automatically at your chosen time.
Please remember, this is not about racing through chapters or doing it perfectly. It’s about showing up, day after day, and letting God speak. Even a small, steady commitment can make a big difference over a year.
If reading feels difficult or your eyes get tired, you don’t have to miss out. There are audio Bible apps and websites such as YouVersion (The Bible App), Bible Gateway Audio Bible, and Olive Tree, where you can listen to Scripture.
You can listen while walking, driving, or going about your daily life, letting God’s Word soak into your day.
If you need a help getting started, just let me know. I’m happy to help with the calendar, audio apps, or anything else you’re unsure about.
My prayer is that as we read together this year, our faith will deepen and our love for God and for one another will be strengthened, as we share what we’re learning and encourage each other along the way.
May we encounter God through His Word this year, with hearts open to hear Him speak.
