5th April Easter Sunday
The Victorious Servant (Isaiah 25:6–9)
Isaiah envisions a future feast where God removes death, wipes away tears, and restores his people. This Easter topic celebrates the victory of Christ’s resurrection, assuring us that death is defeated and inviting us to rejoice in God’s promised salvation. (Note: study questions for the message are released on the church’s sermon page on the Monday after each sermon, and to find them, go here and scroll until you find the Sunday listed: https://wcc.org.au/podcasts/media/series.)
Reflection/Discussion Questions (for website)
- What images of hope and restoration stand out in this passage (vv.6–8)?
- How does the promise that God will “swallow up death forever” connect with the resurrection of Jesus?
- What does it mean for believers today to “rejoice and be glad in his salvation” (v.9)?
